Weigela 

Weigela are fast-growing and unpretentious. Grow in well-drained, sufficiently moist and fertile, loose soil. Tolerates a little shade, but feels best in the sunniest part of the garden, where it also blooms more magnificently. In harsh winters, young shoots can freeze (they regenerate, but the bushes bloom poorly).

Weigela blooms on both new and previous year’s shoots. To keep the bushes blooming beautifully, some of the old branches should be cut out after flowering.
